Aquilegia (lat. Aquilegia ) – an extensive genus of herbaceous flowering plants belonging to the Buttercup family. Description

Peduncle reaches 30 – 40 cm in height. During the flowering period, loose, drooping paniculate inflorescences form on it. Flowers 8-10 cm in diameter, five-petalled, with thin curved spurs.

The color of the petals of this plant can be very different, depending on the variety and variety. Aquilegia begins to bloom in late May or early June. Flowering is intense, lasts for a month. At the end of this period, fruits appear on the plant – multi-leaflets with small seeds that are poisonous.

This culture was popularly nicknamed “catchment” for the ability to collect drops of water in the petals.

“Winky terry” – a variety of aquilegia, which is a bush 40 – 45 cm high, about 30 cm in diameter. It has loose drooping racemose inflorescences, which, after opening, are raised up. The buds consist of soft pink petals and rich pink spurs. This plant looks very elegant. The disadvantages of the variety include a low percentage of seed germination.

‘Winky Double Red and White’ is a popular cultivar of Aquilegia vulgaris, prized for its showy, lush blooms. This is an ornamental perennial, which is a bush up to 80 cm high. It is densely covered with rich green pinnately dissected foliage. The flowers are burgundy with a white border around the edge of the petals. The core of the buds is light yellow. Flowering occurs in early June.

“Winky white” – aquilegia, which is found in the plots of many gardeners, as it can add lightness and grace to the flower arrangement. This is a compact shrub up to 60 cm high. It has large dark green foliage. Terry flowers, 5 cm in diameter, snow-white color, raised up. The variety is moisture-loving, prefers to grow in open areas, where it can constantly be under the sun’s rays.

“Winky Double White and White” – aquilegia 160 cm high, with double and triple pinnately dissected bright green leaves. Flowers with a diameter of 4.5 – 5 cm, white, with a central part of a cream color. The variety is used for decorating borders, decorating empty areas of the site.
