Ixiolirion Tatar
It grows in Central Asia, in the southeast of Siberia and in Northwest China. The bulb is egg-shaped, about 3 cm wide and about 7 cm high.
The stalks of Ixiolirion Tatar are erect, have a straight stalk. The lower leaves are pointed, linear, up to 25 cm long. The plant is about 4 cm in diameter.
The perianth resembles a bell or collar, the color is blue-violet. It begins to bloom somewhere in early June for a duration of 20 days. The fruit is a box with dark angular seeds.
Ixiolyrion landing
To plant an ixilirion, you need a cool and well-ventilated place, as this plant emits gas, which, if not ventilated, can destroy this bulb itself. It is best to get these bulbs out of a plastic bag. And carefully lay them out in a thin layer in some small box so that they all fit.
In all parts of the earth, each continent has its own frosts, and you may consider it not a mandatory requirement to follow what is written in the instructions.
Even if you plant ixiolirion at the end of November, then lying under the snow all winter, the bulbs do not freeze and bloom even very well in spring.
If you are going to plant annual bulbs, the planting site can be anywhere. But the groundwater level should not be higher than 30-40 cm from the ground, so that it is not flooded with water. If you are planting non-annual plants, then more sunny, fertile places will suit them.
Planting formula The planting depth is equal to 3 bulb diameters. I explain, the larger your onion, the further it needs to be planted.
Proper care of ixiolirion
If you are going to grow annual bulbs, then they do not need fertilizer at all, since they themselves have their own nutrients, in principle, they should be enough. But for perennial bulbs, fertilizers will only be useful. Mineral or organomineral fertilizers are suitable for them.
- before flowering: nitrogen – growth is improved,
- during flowering: phosphorus – increased quality of flowering,
- after flowering: potassium – the preparation of the bulb takes place in the winter.
It is only necessary to loosen the soil and remove all sorts of weeds, if there are bad leaves they do not need to be cut off, dying off occurs by itself, watering. If you follow these guidelines when caring for your ixilirion, then you are more likely to get the right bulbs.
Now more often use shelter such as shelter 10-15 cm with a layer of peat, straw, fallen leaves. Do not forget that shelter occurs before the onset of the first frost.
