Dipladenia or Mandevilla (Dipladenia, Mandevilla) is an evergreen, beautiful and long-blooming vine , which has not yet received worthy recognition among Russian flower growers.

However, real lovers of indoor flowers use diplasia as a colorful accent when creating various compositions. Due to its rapid growth and dense foliage, it is able to completely wrap around the proposed support. This allows you to create various vertical designs with the help of the mandeville flower, decorated with fragrant tubular flowers in white, pink, red or yellow.

The genus includes more than 40 species of diplatia (mandeville), common in the tropics of Central and South America, especially in Brazil, which explains other plant names: Brazilian balsam, or jasmine, Bolivian rose, Mexican tree of love.

Types of diplomacy in the photo

Sander’s Dipladenia (Dipladenia sanderi) is a climbing liana with smooth reddish shoots, plump, bright green leaves elongated at the top and large (about 5 cm in diameter) tubular flowers, arranged in several pieces in the axils of the leaves. Varieties have been bred not only with simple flowers, but also with terry ones, as well as two-tone colors.

Bolivian Dipladenia (Dipladenia boliviensis) is a species more common in greenhouse culture. Curly shoots of diplomaticia, as seen in the photo, grow up to 2 meters or more. The leaves are small (up to 5 cm long), shiny, green, ovoid. In their axils, short peduncles develop with 3-4 white flowers with a yellow throat.

Excellent Dipladenia (Dipladenia eximia) – similar to the Bolivian Dipladenia (Mandevilla), but the flowers are pink-red, collected in racemose inflorescences of 6-8 pieces.

Mandevilla care at home

Diplodia loves bright diffused lighting, high humidity, warmth and is afraid of drafts. When caring for diplomacy at home, it is better to choose a place for the plant next to the south or east window, and in the summer take it out into the open air.

The flower is watered abundantly in summer, with frequent spraying, in winter (at a temperature of +15 +1 8 ° C) after the earthen coma has completely dried. Water should be used rain or boiled: since diplomaticium does not like lime salt very much.

At home, caring for a mandevilla involves an annual transplant, this is best done in the spring.

Top dressing is carried out from March to August once every 2-3 weeks. After flowering, to prepare for the dormant period, the shoots are cut to about 2/3 of the length. Propagated indoor flower diplatia (mandevilla) cuttings throughout the year, but better in the spring. To improve root formation, the cut is treated with a stimulant.
