It is known that men prefer to complement gifts for women with chrysanthemums. Today, these flowers are no less popular than the “classic” roses. However, growing them is much easier and simpler, and you can even do it at home. Many people prefer to transplant chrysanthemum bushes belonging to the so-called late variety from an ordinary garden into a flower pot. Thus, even with the onset of cold weather, luxurious flowers will delight with their beauty and slightly tart aroma, which cannot be confused with anything.

We plant chrysanthemums

Chrysanthemums are heat-loving flowers, so special attention should be paid to choosing a site for planting them. It is desirable that this be a place that is as open to sunlight as possible. As for the soil, the ideal solution would be a drained type of soil or slightly acidic soil that perfectly passes moisture. It is important to remember that the lack of sufficient lighting can lead to the fact that the shoots of chrysanthemums will begin to stretch. Thus, the plant itself will also become weaker, and the duration of its flowering will also be significantly reduced.

In order for chrysanthemums to grow well and bloom beautifully, it is important to provide them with nutrients and trace elements in the required amount. For flowers, they have the same meaning as beautiful cosmetics for the face and body in the arsenal of the fairer sex. It is known that in the most saturated soil, flowers grow especially well. If the soil on the plot is dense and not fertile enough, then before you start planting plants, it is recommended to fertilize it with peat, compost or ordinary manure. Any modern complex-type fertilizer will not hurt either. Chrysanthemums should be planted in a trench, and not in holes, like other flowers. In this case, the distance at which the cuttings are located from each other should be at least 30, but not more than 50 centimeters. Much depends on the specifics of a particular plant variety.

After the cuttings are planted, they should be securely covered. For this, any covering type material is suitable, which will provide young flowers with an optimal microclimate for comfortable growth, as well as reliably protect them from excess sunlight.

As for reproduction, it occurs in chrysanthemums by division. In the spring, when the frosts have already passed, you should dig up a bush of flowers and separate young shoots from it. Immediately after this, they must be planted, and together with the roots, and properly watered.

For propagation of flowers, the so-called cutting method is also suitable. In the spring, shoots from the bush can be cut off – it is desirable that their length is about 10 centimeters. The lower part should be treated with a special compound, and only after that they can be planted in the soil. After planting, it is recommended to cover the plants with paper, which will provide an optimal level of humidity, and water.
