Ursinia leaves are narrow, and it blooms from mid to late summer. The hue of flowers is predominantly yellow or orange, but sometimes purple and white are also found. This plant is quite hardy. Flowering: spectacular, multi-colored. The flowers are like daisies. When open, the flower reaches about 5 cm in diameter. A flower appears at the top of each stem. While the flowers are in the unopened state, the long graceful stems descend and become straight only when the flower opens. Each plant produces from 15 to 20 flowers and, depending on weather conditions, each of them blooms for several days until the seeds ripen. By evening, the petals are bent towards each other, closing the flowers at night. Cut flowers open indoors when placed in a vase of water. They usually stand for a long time. Ursinia are pollinated mainly by bees that fly for nectar. The seeds are very small and light and can be blown away by a slight breeze.

Soil type: sandy, well-drained, poor. If the soil is saturated with nutrients, then the flower will not be hardy. The pH level should be between 6.5 and 8.5.

Watering: Ursinia is tolerant of hot and dry weather conditions, so it does not need much water. Abundantly water the plant should be only during a period of intensive growth. You can water the flower with rainwater. After the plant is formed, the watering rate should be equal to 2-3 glasses per week. This means that the soil must be dry for several days.

Fertilizers: during the growing season, with active growth, you can make a small amount of balanced top dressing. Fertilize once every 20-30 days.

Reproduction: carried out by planting seeds. If you intend to reproduce Ursinia in the garden, the seeds do not need to be buried deep, but can be sprinkled directly on the ground after the last frost in the spring. Plant spacing should be 15 to 25 cm. When grown indoors, seeds will germinate in 2-4 weeks. The temperature should be around 16°C. Seedlings can be taken out into the garden after a few weeks after the last frost.

Uses: These flowers are mainly used for ornamental purposes in stone gardens, as well as for planting in hanging baskets. The most commonly used for these purposes is ursinia dill.

Additionally: Ursinia does not tolerate high levels of humidity. Usually these plants die in the fall, and it is advisable to uproot them. It should also be borne in mind that they grow strongly in width, so sometimes extra stems can be cut.
