Due to its beauty, tall stem, fast growth and pleasant persistent aroma, Aqua rose is a cut variety. It grows equally well both in greenhouses and greenhouses, and in open ground. It tolerates frosts down to -10°С, but, at a stable air temperature below -5°С, it requires shelter, is resistant to various diseases and pests.

Rosa Aqua prefers open, sunny, well-ventilated planting sites, but exposure to strong winds adversely affects the development of the plant. A place protected on the north side by a building or trees is best suited.

Cultivation and care

The rose needs fertile or well fertilized soil with humus or peat, with good drainage. Bushes should be planted at a distance of at least 50 cm from each other and from other plants so that the bushes can form freely.

Rosa Aqua needs regular (3-4 times a week) watering, but without waterlogging. At the same time, it is recommended to water the rose in the early morning and in such a way that moisture does not fall on the aerial parts of the plant, as this can lead to the appearance of fungal diseases. After watering, it is imperative to loosen the soil under the bush, without damaging the roots, to a depth of at least 5 cm to improve water permeability and provide air access to the root system.

In time, in late April – early May and in autumn, before frost, soil mulching should be done to prevent evaporation and retain moisture, as well as prevent the plant’s root system from overheating.

The rose is a very responsive plant to fertilization, which can be dry or liquid. Aqua especially needs top dressing in early spring and early autumn. In spring, this is a complete mineral fertilizer and ammonium nitrate (50 g per 10 liters of water), and in autumn – phosphate and potash fertilizers. It is recommended in the summer after pruning, to restore the cut and successful formation of new shoots, apply organic and complex fertilizers with microelements.

The most important condition for the intensive growth and abundant flowering of the Aqua rose is pruning, which is carried out in spring, summer and autumn. It is very important to trim with a sharp instrument, since the wood of roses is very delicate and squeezed or torn cut edges take a very long time to cast, which can lead to infection.
