  • Care: This flower requires careful care.

Growing environment: greenhouse, garden or indoor conditions. Indoor cyclamen will grow best in a cool room at 15-18°C during the day and 4-10°C at night.

The flowering period of cyclamen at home is captured in the photo.

Flowering: showy. Flowers can be double or non-double, they grow above the foliage, and their shade is white, red, purple, pink, orange-pink or two-tone.

Cyclamen Care

Temperature range: 4-16°C. The place where you grow flowers should be cool and humid.

Lighting: partial shade or shade. The sun’s rays falling on the plant should not be direct.

Soil Type: The soil should be moist and rich in nutrients. Be sure to make sure the soil is well-drained. It is best to choose the following soil composition: two-thirds of loam, one-third of humus, and also add a large amount of sand. If the soil is too viscous, you can add gravel and leafy humus.

Watering: should be regular. Do not water the flower too much during the period of active growth and flowering.

Fertilizers: Fertilizers should be applied once every two weeks during the growth period.

Reproduction: carried out by planting seeds. Cyclamen, whose reproduction should be carried out in late summer, should be planted in the soil of the following composition: sifted loam, sand, leafy humus. These plants are best reproduced in a cool greenhouse. Since the seeds germinate at different times, it is necessary to plant them sparsely, and the first sprouts that appear can be transplanted as soon as they get stronger. Flowering will begin approximately 15 weeks after planting. A month before flowering, you can raise the ambient temperature by 5-6°C.

Planting: Cyclamen tubers should be planted at a depth of 1-2 cm, and the distance between plants should be about 15-20 cm. It is necessary to plant the tubers during their dormant state. After planting, the soil should be kept moist at all times. Garden cyclamen should be grown in soil enriched with compost.

Pests and Diseases: Whitefly and spider mites may be affected. Cyclamen, whose diseases appear less often, must be cured with insecticides or other chemical means.

Extra: Two months after cyclamen blooms, you will notice that the leaves turn yellow and the plant looks unhealthy. It does not die – the period of hibernation begins. During this period, you need to stop watering and the plant should dry. The tuber should be placed in dried peat moss before May. If you grow a flower in the garden, then it should be brought indoors before the cold sets in. Cyclamen will start blooming at about the same time as a year ago. The most important thing is regular watering and the correct temperature regime.
