Care: easy. Although this perennial is easily adaptable to any environment, it is best to create conditions that mimic the flower’s homeland the most. These are wooded areas and meadows.

Temperature conditions: perennial blackhead grows best in a cool and mild climate. The flower is very hardy to cold weather and can tolerate low temperatures (about -29 degrees).

Lighting: full sun or partial shade. It is more preferable to pick up a slightly shady area of the garden.

Soil Type: Requires well-drained soil. Since blackheads are unpretentious plants, they can grow in almost any type of soil. But most often they are grown in loamy or sandy soil. The pH level should be between 6 and 7.5.

Watering: once a week, water the flower abundantly until the soil is completely moistened.

Fertilizers: A small amount of top dressing should be applied directly at the time of planting.

Reproduction: carried out by planting seeds or division. Chernogolovka should be reproduced in the spring. It is desirable that the soil is saturated with nutrients. Planting depth should be about 10-15 cm, and the distance between plants should be 15-22 cm. When planting seeds, do not bury them deep, but only lightly cover them with a layer of soil. If you start to reproduce the perennial indoors, then this should be done 10 weeks before spring. The first shoots will appear within one to two months, and the temperature should be from 12 to 18 degrees. If you are transplanting blackheads from containers into the garden, then the planting depth should be the same as it was in the container. You can also mulch the soil with a 7cm layer of compost.

If you are buying these plants to grow, look out for new leaves and flower buds.

Application: As a rule, these plants are cut in the summer, and then used fresh or dried for herbal tinctures, tea leaves or ointments.

Additionally, if you regularly remove wilted flowers, your plant will look neater and bloom more often. Chernogolovka flower has a tendency to strong growth. Various means should be used to restrain the rapid growth of the blackhead, for example, bottomless pots can be used. They are used in beds and borders. Adult specimens reach 30-60 cm in height, and then new young plants appear from them. To avoid overseeding, prune the flower after flowering has ended. When the growing season ends, prune the plant at ground level.
